- John Malta shirts are on the way, so any emails received for alternate sizes will be saved for the next print run.

- Cornwall issues 1-4 are out of print and will be reprinted this winter with the rest of the completed comic. The only few copies I have left will be sold at the Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo (or MICE) on September 25th in Boston. I will be there with zines, comics, mix tapes, stickers, shirts and whatever else I can whip together. On the waiting list for a table, but will be on foot if it doesn’t work out. See you there!

- The blog portion of Rad Fort has two new contributors: please welcome Eric Dobbins and Christina “Blue” Crow to the site!!

Eric is the creator / brain trust member of Lawrence’s Wonder Fair and artist behind every classic work in history.

Blue curates Portland’s rising Stumptown Underground imprint, which publishes MONTHLY anthologies. She is also an organizer with the Portland Zine Symposium and a damn fine writer to boot.

I am very excited about the expansion of the RAD FORT blog. More people will come on board over time, and I can’t wait to see what our crew has in store.

- There is now a news page to the site to instantly sift through the blog for updates. So check that out but as of writing this I haven’t added anything to it yet. Huzzah!

Silence for RAD FORT only means everybody is making art right now. I mean it’s the summer, the weed is dank and the sun is bright. Next month promises to be a great one with a few of JM’s works in physical form from Rad Fort. Form and from share the same letters by the way. You’ll learn that when you type them next to each other.

Decided to do something different so in about 5-10 minutes I threw together a self portrait and got Harvey Pekar to sign it at last night’s discussion/signing. Turned out way cool. Check out Radical Fortress number ten in the digital comics section.

Above is a photo of pages + materials from the graphic novel I am currently slaving away at. I may do a digital comic or quick zine at random, but this is what I am mainly focusing on at the moment. I’ve never worked on anything this long or detailed before and it makes me excited + nervous all at once. I’m digging the challenge. What you see now is all you will probably see or hear about this project for a while, though I may break that rule when I’m dying for some attention. I can also tell you that there is an ‘o’ somewhere in the title.

Lots of cool comics stuff has been happening in Massachusetts as of late and it makes me real glad to be in the right place at the right time. Dash Shaw was in Cambridge last week and he was a total gent. Real inspiring stuff (seriously, as soon as I got home I went right to work on comics) and am loving BodyWorld so far. You can read it online at his website for free, but I say buy the book and do both. There are subtle differences.

Harvey Pekar is doing a signing in Northampton tomorrow which is rad and Daniel Clowes has a gig in Cambridge next week. I am going to try my hardest to be at all of these and soak it all in. Creativity and brilliance, that is.

So in a week or so, come on back and I’ll have way cool news for you. JM and KK are working on some hits, get ready!

Radical Fortress catalogue number 9 is a three page comic I made called “Mystic Lady”. It’s appearing in “City Folk”, the newest anthology from Portland’s Stumptown Underground. It was a pleasure to contribute again and I look forward to seeing the finished product.
