Cosmic Tease

Everyone involved has been staying mum about it, and this post won’t really change that. You should just know that COSMIC CYST is coming at the end of the summer, it features comics by the best artists around (everyone we didn’t get will appear in it’s already in progress sequel) and it’s co-edited/co-released by Kenneth Kupfer (VALUE SHOCK) and myself (RAD FORT). Kenneth of course gets full credit for conceiving the anthology and it’s unifying concept.

That’s all for now, but above you can view a teaser with a panel from 6 of the artists (there is plenty more, these are just what I have readily available on my new computer). No names are being released yet, but guesses are most welcome. This is the big project for the year and the final product will certainly reflect that… but enough spoilers.

Cosmic Cyst is coming, mother fuckers, and it’s going to set the streets on fire.

Cheesus in “Brother, Can You Spare a Slice?” by Joey Gantner

I actually finished the 4th Cheesus earlier this year – it was intended to be printed in a zine I was putting together, but eventually it’s focused changed (and yes it’s still coming, I’ve had the covers printed since December of 2010). So this one has been sitting around, waiting to exist beyond my drawing desk.

Here it is, Rad Fort #33: “Brother, Can You Spare a Slice?” is a 6 page romp through the hard streets of Any City, USA, featuring a down on his luck Cheesus. I did an ink wash over all the pages last night so it’s got that sexy grey pop.

Up next for this cheese dude? The “CHEESOMNIBUSUS” (thanks to MJG for the name) will come either at the end of this year or earlier in the next. It will print every story past, present and future including the final 2 full length stories of the character before I put him to bed.

Scenes by Joey Gantner: an 8 month comic series.

First off, WOW! These past 2 days have been amazing, it’s seriously been the biggest response that RAD FORT has ever gotten! Thank you to everyone who has pre-ordered a poster or shirt, checked out the page or re-tweeted us during this period of joy and hard work: you rule.

The final day of the 3 pre-orders is here at last! Today, you get something by me, and it’s Radical Fortress #29.

“Scenes” is an 8 issue series of comics that will eventually make up a graphic novel. They will be shipped and produced out of order, giving you (the viewer) the opportunity to make your own edit of the story. Should be pretty fun.

You can subscribe for the full 8 months which means you will 100% get every issue of the story or buy a single issue which is still pretty cool. The first one is called “Honey Girl” and will be shipping in early June.

Pre-order today, either the full 8 months or the “Honey Girl” issue. You can’t go wrong: http://radicalfortress.bigcartel.com/product/scenes-by-joey-gantner

VHS Dreamz by Jheri Evans- a 12 month poster series

Behold, 3 pre orders in 3 days begins NOW!

Rad Fort #27 is here! It’s coming on a good number of years that I’ve known my pal Jheri Evans, and each day has been a wondrous adventure of delightful joy. We’ve been trying to get together on a project in most of that time and finally everything has fallen into it’s destiny.

Besides being a deservedly respected music journalist for sites like his very own Get Off the Coast or Altered Zones, creating music or even co-running his record label Crash Symbols, Jheri is an accomplished artist. His works have been seen on album covers, computer screens and t-shirts (Forty Ounce Clothing just today released their collaboration with JE and it’s stellar so get yours here now).

And right now the project we’ve long discussed is available to be yours! VHS Dreamz is a series of 12 posters featuring Jheri’s designs, a new one available each month over the period of one year. The first in the series is “PRIMES” (which you see at the top of this post) will be shipping out in June.

You can buy a subscription in 6 month ($30) or the complete 12 month ($50) packages. All profits go to the artist. Also, a limited amount of posters each month will be available for individual sale but to guarantee you get all 12 I highly suggest you get on the 12 month train (plus you’ll get secret goodies). These won’t be around long!
