Decided to do something different so in about 5-10 minutes I threw together a self portrait and got Harvey Pekar to sign it at last night’s discussion/signing. Turned out way cool. Check out Radical Fortress number ten in the digital comics section.

So much rad stuff on the way and in the works which will get their own deserved posts shortly, but I didn’t want to leave the site without an update for so long.
Above is a photo of pages + materials from the graphic novel I am currently slaving away at. I may do a digital comic or quick zine at random, but this is what I am mainly focusing on at the moment. I’ve never worked on anything this long or detailed before and it makes me excited + nervous all at once. I’m digging the challenge. What you see now is all you will probably see or hear about this project for a while, though I may break that rule when I’m dying for some attention. I can also tell you that there is an ‘o’ somewhere in the title.
Lots of cool comics stuff has been happening in Massachusetts as of late and it makes me real glad to be in the right place at the right time. Dash Shaw was in Cambridge last week and he was a total gent. Real inspiring stuff (seriously, as soon as I got home I went right to work on comics) and am loving BodyWorld so far. You can read it online at his website for free, but I say buy the book and do both. There are subtle differences.
Harvey Pekar is doing a signing in Northampton tomorrow which is rad and Daniel Clowes has a gig in Cambridge next week. I am going to try my hardest to be at all of these and soak it all in. Creativity and brilliance, that is.
So in a week or so, come on back and I’ll have way cool news for you. JM and KK are working on some hits, get ready!
